  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract or essence
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Use a mixer, electric beater, or hand whisk to mix them well.
  2. Add self-raising flour to the bowl. If using plain flour, mix in 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

  5. Grease a cake pan with oil or butter.
  6. Spoon alternate layers of vanilla and chocolate batter into the pan.

  8. Bake the cake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
